A developing country that wants to attract investments in its energy sector must ensure that the investors are met with an investor friendly legal and administrative environment. Therefore, USAID EIA prepared a report on the International Best Practice in Energy Infrastructure Permitting (the Report). The Report comprises the key findings of numerous studies on the EU permitting procedures, examples of the best practice in several countries (Germany, Austria, Croatia, Turkey and the Federal State of Ohio, USA), as well as the specific recommendations from the international best practice.
The Report on the Best International Practice will serve as an example for the proposals for the amendment of the existing legal and regulatory permitting framework in BiH. The Report was presented at the Second Energy Summit in Neum, in April 2016. The Report and the Presentation of the Report are available in English and local language.
